Upholstery comes in various types of fabrics. It is important that we determine what type of fabric your furniture is made of as this gives us the ability to clean it properly and safely. Some fabrics are relatively straightforward to clean, others can be virtually uncleanable without considerable risk.
This is where our 25 years of experience is invaluable and we can often carry out a test in an inconspicuous area if there is any doubt. Many fabrics are composed of multiple types of fibre, each of which can react differently. This is often the case with bespoke hand built period style chairs and sofas which have been reupholstered over the years and may even have the added complication of a horsehair stuffing.

Evaluate
Firstly, we will evaluate your furniture’s upholstery and any specific cleaning requirements. It is very important to bear in mind that every type of fabric must be treated differently.
Recommend
Sometimes the sofa manufacturer recommends a particular cleaning method, which of course will be taken into account, but often their labels are vague and non specific so can be misleading.
Clean
By jointly making the decision of the best method of cleaning your piece of furniture you will know in advance what we can and can’t do for you, which will leave out any surprises later on.
We have 25 years of experience
Even if you don’t choose us, please make sure that the company you engage has lots of experience and proper insurance to cover items being worked on (not just the usual much cheaper insurance for their tools and Public Liability which won't help them or you in the event of a claim for damage to your carpet or upholstery). And don't be afraid of asking them to prove membership of the NCCA (National Carpet Cleaners Association) which only admits operators who have proved their competence and industry specific knowledge, with annual proof of the special 'Goods being worked on' insurance cover.
