I’ve always believed it essential to invest in training and the best equipment we could afford. We now use state of the art Truck Mounted cleaning equipment costing over £20,000 plus the expense of a large van with custom built cargo area fitted out with the huge machine, three tanks, hose reels, 300ft of hoses, and specialist tools. This not only makes our job more effective but also guarantees to give your flooring and fabrics the best possible clean achievable.

 

Proper training has been a cornerstone of our development and over the last 25 years we have spent several thousands of pounds and travelled many thousands of miles within the UK attending industry training workshops and conferences to remain up to date about new techniques and cleaning chemistry. We have even travelled to Chicago USA to spend a week at the HOST dry cleaning training facility. All industries have trade associations and we are proud to be long term supporters of the NCCA National Carpet Cleaners Association which has been a key driver in raising standards and providing carpet cleaning information to the Public and Media.

Honesty and ethics is also a big part of who we are, we like to do a proper job and treat people fairly giving an honest price with no hidden extras.

Why do I make a point of mentioning ethics? Well, it’s not that I’m trying to discredit good people but unfortunately I have to tell you that many carpet cleaning firms even to this day operate a sales method known as Bait and Switch. What’s that you might ask ? Well, they offer a BAIT of a seemingly amazing almost give away price, say £10 a room, with no actual intention of keeping to that price.

Then intentionally they will SWITCH the price part way through the job, saying something like the carpet isn’t responding and needs different chemicals, or something similar, which will cost more, usually much more. Now, how many people are going to say “No Way, don’t bother, leave the carpets dirty and get out of my house” when you have the man standing there part way into the job, so most people pay the extra just to get the job completed on the day they had set aside.

If you fail to bite and pay the extra they’ll do a quick superficial job leaving the carpet only slightly better than it started out, which is how they skirt around the law…This Sales technique works so well it was actually made illegal but it is still prevalent in this industry especially with the telephone cold calling companies, and some rogue operators in the South West have been exposed on TV Watchdog in recent years. Done slickly you might not even realise you’ve been had, after all many things end up costing more than expected.

We feel that if you choose to have your carpets professionally cleaned the price quoted should include everything and be done properly every time.
